Top News SanDisk launches world’s highest-capacity MicroSD card. But . .

The world of technology is moving faster than the wind. It hasn’t be too long when people carried bulky devices for electronic storage of as low capacity as 100mb. But now SanDisk has done something exceptional.
One of world’s leading SD card producing companies, SanDisk, has created a brand new micro SD card with highest storage capacity possible on a microSD card.

About this microSD card 512

The latest addition in SanDisk family will be sold for over 16,000 rupees. It has a capacity to hold up to 400 gigabytes of data. And damn, this is unbelievable.
Quite often than not we hear smartphone makers saying, “Our phone has an expandable memory of 2 terabytes (1 terabyte = 1012 gigabytes). All thanks to SanDisk, we can at least reach closer to that figure. Last time we were any closer was when we had microSD cards of 256 gigabytes.

Specifications 512

  • The storage capacity of 400 gigabytes.
  • Speed = 100mbps (only for read operations as the speed would fall a wee for write operations)
  • Class 10 memory card
  • Supports UHS-1 standard.
  • Certification of App performance class 1 A(1) memory card

But as of Now . . .

Here’s the downside of this memory card. Actually, to make this SD card hold more memory, SanDisk stuffed a lot of transistors into the same dice size. As a result, its performance will not be as good as other competitors.
Also, this will increase the risk of the card getting corrupted. After all, a huge amount of transistors are fixed on such a small card.
And hence, you can’t completely rely on this card.
So, SanDisk has done an exceptional job but we would still advise you to go with the 256-gigabyte card, as of now.

Qualcomm to come up with SnapDragon 670

Snapdragon is a suite of a system on a chip (SoC) semiconductor products designed and marketed by Qualcomm for mobile devices. Qualcomm’s latest offering was SnapDragon 835. It is the same chipset used in OnePlus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S8.

The new offering

So, SnapDragon 670 is going to be Qualcomm’s next offering. Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 may launch in early 2018. It is said to have 10 nano meter (nm) chip and next generation Kryo Cores.
The processor is reported to be built using 10nm Low Power Plus (LPP) tech instead of the current Low Power Early (LPE) technology used to build SnapDragon 835 and Exynos 8895 chipsets.
The chip will allegedly have an octa-core Kryo CPU – 2 high power cores (Kryo 360) and 6 low-power ones. Kryo 360 would be a third-generation core, while the Snapdragon 835 and 660 use second gen cores.

All things considered, it’s surely gonna give a great punch to the devices that will house it. No doubt, SnapDragon 670 is going to be a powerful processor. At least, competition will boom technical creativity. And of course, we can’t wait for it.

Ex Apple employee speaks against this ‘Apple Product’

Apple is world’s biggest company. Right now it has been creating buzz because of iPhone 8 (to be launched on September 12th). Smart watch, desktop, phones, laptops, it makes them all.

Last year in October the tech giant launched its all new MacBook Pro computers. Some models featured OLED touch bars that replaced the functional keys. Apple’s quite happy with the feature but some of its customers are not. Their ex employee feels the same way.
Ariter who worked at Apple for 17 years, in a blog post complains that Apple, in some measures, is forcing it’s customers of premium MacBooks. He believes that the company is unnecessarily shoving expensive touch bar, even though customers don’t want it.

Ex Apple Employee’s statement

“The current MacBook Pro line forces users to pay for the Touch Bar on the higher end devices whether they want it or not, and that’s a cost users shouldn’t need to pay for a niche technology without a future,” he wrote.
“So what’s the future of the Touch Bar? I don’t know. I’m not sure Apple does, either,” Rospach writes. “My bet is on Apple having decided they fell in love with the Touch Bar and lost sight of the fact that Apple sells solutions to problems, not technologies.”

“Much as I love the Touch ID sensor, what keeps me from missing it much is 1Password. It’s marginally more work for me to type in my password to open 1Password than use my fingerprint, but not much. My Apple Watch unlocks the Mac, and so I don’t need the Touch ID sensor for that, and when I use Apple Pay on the iMac, the Watch makes that quite painless, too.”

His recent switch

He mentioned that he recently switched from the MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar to an iMac 5L and he didn’t miss Apple’s “killer” feature (sarcasm) at all.
After his blog post got popular, he added another blog in the series. It was, again, dedicated to the touch bar.

WhatsApp May Start Charging These Users soon

WhatsApp is a text messaging app that has over a billion active users. In 2014, WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook for a whooping $19 Billion. Though Facebook makes no direct income from WhatsApp, it uses the messaging data of users. The data is used to give better performance to its customers that use Facebook to for advertisements.

Now WhatsApp in a blog post mentioned that it will be testing new features to make it easier for people to communicate with businesses they want to reach on WhatsApp.
“We’re building and testing new tools via a free WhatsApp Business app for small companies and an enterprise solution for bigger companies operating at a large scale with a global base of customers, like airlines, e-commerce sites, and banks,” team WhatsApp mentioned in the blog post.

WhatsApp has already started a pilot program that would feature a green badge next to a business contact, indicating that the business was verified by the messaging service.
Matt Idema , the COO of WhatsApp mentioned that WhatsApp intends to charge the businesses in near future. Though Idema made no comments on how they will charge their users for their business. “We don’t have the details of monetization figured out,”
We just hope WhatsApp remains the same for general Indian users.

How A Smartwatch That Will Track Your Every Movement

Smartwatch is a booming trend among youth. Giant technical companies like Apple and Samsung are investing since long to create better smartwatches than others. But guess what, scientists won the battle.

Recently, scientists have created a new algorithm that enables smartwatches to not only record your exercise session but also detect when you are writing, dancing, cooking or brushing your teeth. This smartwatch will provide a clearer picture of your daily life activities.

The watch

When compared to current smartwatches, this watch is many times more functional.
The new algorithm tracks ongoing activity, paying close attention to transitioning, as well as the activity itself. In the example above, it assumes that the walk will continue following the short pauses, and therefore holds the data while it waits. The researchers believe their new method allows the watch to autonomously discover activities as they occur without requiring such pre-programming
“Current activity-recognition systems usually fail because they are limited to recognising a predefined set of activities, whereas of course human activities are not limited and change with time,” said Hristijan Gjoreski of the University of Sussex.
“Here we present a new machine-learning approach that detects new human activities as they happen in real time, and which outperforms competing approaches,” Gjoreski said.
“This new method for activity discovery paints a far richer, more accurate, picture of daily human life,” said Daniel Roggen of University of Sussex.
It would be like carrying a PA on your wrist. Interesting how technology is growing.

Airtel enables VoLTE In Hyderabad soon , here are the plans

Until now, Reliance Jio was the only telecom company in India to provide VoLTE service. It has created its monopoly quite firmly across the nation. But now, as it seems, Airtel is all set to give Reliance Jio a tough competition.

As the statement of Director — Network, Bharti Airtel, Abhay Savargaonkar siad, “Over the next few months, we will rapidly accelerate the deployment of VoLTE to cover all key geographies to bring HD quality calling to our customers. We keenly look forward to our device partners enabling Airtel VoLTE on their smartphones.”
It is pretty evident that Airtel has Jio’s reach in mind and hence it would work on the expansion accordingly. However, as of now, customers aren’t very impressed by Airtel’s 4G service.

Specialty of Airtel VoLTE

The specialty of Airtel VoLTE will be its connectivity. If any area wouldn’t be adequately covered by 4G, the VoLTE call will automatically connect through 3G/2G network. This will hugely solve the problem of call-drop that Jio customers face quite often than not.

Airtel VoLTE plans

The plan ranges from Rs. 5-Rs. 6,999, according to the Airtel Mumbai website. Here are some of the recharge options/features available to Airtel prepaid customers in Mumbai, according to the Airtel website:
